The Leupold Mark 5HD 2-10x30mm riflescope is all new and checks all the boxes with nearly no shortcomings.

Personally, I prefer MOA-based scopes, and Leupold also offers this scope with that option.
Leupold’s new Mark 5HD 2-10x scope offers a wide range of magnification with excellent optical clarity.
The TMR reticle model is offered in illuminated and non-illuminated versions.
The glass is crisp, clean and bright, no matter the light conditions.
Color fidelity is without flaw, as is edge-to-edge clarity.
The Mark 5HD 2-10×30 scope works extremely well on modern carbines like the Hellion and SAINT lines from Springfield Armory.
There is nothing negative to say about the glass quality on the Mark 5HD 2-10.
It is simply the best Leupold offers, and better than many others in its category.
Seeing its optical power in person is a sight for sore eyes.
Leupold enjoys an excellent reputation for making scopes with exceptional glass. The author found this riflescope has impressive optics.
When picking an LPVO for your duty or defensive rifle, this competes for the best glass available.
With an adjustable parallax focus, all targets between 75 to 800 yards will be in focus.
The windage and elevation adjustments are very tactile and audible.
The Leupold 5HD 2-10x30mm scope turrets are easy to adjust with clicks you can feel and hear.
The elevation knob is exposed and very large.
It features a push-button locking system with a resettable zero stop.
The elevation dial features 30 MILs of adjustment in 0.1 MIL increments, and the windage is 10 MILs.
The Leupold scope mounted easily to the Hellion. Throughout testing, the author found it performed as expected with a forgiving eye box.
These numbers are remarkable, and likely due to the large 35mm tube.
How Does It Function?
Name a brand and model scope with a similar zoom ratio, and I have likely used it.
This starts with the magnification adjustment and integrated throw knob or lever.
The magnification adjustment is not too stiff or too light to bump off; theyre just right.
At 2X, the scope handles like an above-average prism scope, but with exceptional eye relief.
Unlike many scopes, the eye box is forgiving no matter what the magnification is set at.
It could clear a room and then deliver a precise shot at 800 yards without skipping a beat.
I love nitpicking scopes when I review them, and it doesnt have any negatives.
But, you have to pay for that kind of quality, which is reflected in the price tag.
