Safety Precautions When Swapping Grips

I recommend a gunsmithing screwdriver set from somewhere like Brownells or Midway USA.
Prior to changing the grips on your 1911, ensure the gun is unloaded and the chamber is empty.

This will help prevent any marring of the finish on your 1911.
You will also need a set of replacement grips.
