Thats where weapon-mounted lights (WML) come into play.
Holosun used a magnetic charging connection for the Holosun P.ID light. This allows you to charge the battery without removing it from the pistol.
Fast forward to today, and I probably have more Holosun optics than any other single brand.
If the base model can impress, the other models will too.
Long gone are the days of bulky, quick-to-die lights that cost an arm and a leg.
Testing the Holosun P.ID proved it had plenty of light for interior rooms, stairwells and hallways.
While the P.ID isnt necessarily ultra-compact, it feels reasonably small.
You must simultaneously hold both buttons down to switch between high and low modes.
Low mode will put out 500 lumens, and high mode will put out 1,000 lumens.
The P.ID fit well on the Hellcat Pro 9mm, giving the author a capable light for a capable defensive pistol.
The P.ID also has a nice lockout feature.

In addition to testing the Holosun light inside, the author also ran the light outside. This photo shows the light beam in nighttime conditions.
With the P.ID you dont have to worry about that.
I suppose activating it would still be possible, but it is extremely unlikely.
Youll have an indicator light to let you know its connected properly, which is appreciated.
If an intruder were at the end of this hallway, you would be able to identify the threat with the Holosun light.
I headed outside that same evening as soon as it was done.
The 500-lumen mode is more than bright enough to clear your house without blinding you.
I was still able to see my sights well too.
